Acceptance

Admission

On receipt of an Application for Enrolment, families are invited to an initial interview. At this interview the school’s philosophy, programs and procedures are explained to parents about what the school has to offer and their hopes and aspirations for their child. Once school expectations, policies and procedures are outlined then parents are requested to sign a parent declaration agreeing to support all school policies and guidelines. Only then will students be accepted, providing a vacancy exists.

Admission to Transition occurs at the commencement of the school year providing children have their fifth birthday on or before the last day of June of the year they start.

Children transferring into the school at year levels other than Transition will be admitted on a mutually agreed date.

Expectation

The wearing of full and correct school uniform (including regulation footwear and hat) is a condition of enrolment. Therefore it is an expectation that the uniform be worn at all times. As well as being attractive and practical, the school uniform helps to develop a sense of identity and pride in our School. To facilitate this, the uniform is available from the Office. Importantly we view school uniforms as a social justice issue where the latest fashion, expensive designer wear and brand names or logos are not part of our dress code.

Please note also that our dress code requires that only minimal jewellery (one pair of stud/sleeper earrings and a watch – definitely no rings, chains, anklets) is worn and that hair should be neat, clean and, if long, tied back from the face. Painted finger nails and toe nails are not permitted.

As part of sun safety awareness, school hats are compulsory and a ‘no school hat, no play’ policy is strictly enforced.

Our school logo is incorporated into our uniform shirts and hats.

The uniform comprises the following;

Girls

Plain rugby knit navy knee-length shorts/ skorts or wrap around skirt (no basketball weaves or cargo style).

School shirt (navy polo style) or check dress.

Boys

School shirt (navy polo style)

Boys and Girls
